Disco

As you all know in christchurch on 22nd of February 2011 a 6.3 earthquake hit. After the devistation of the first quake in September most of the houses and buildings that did not fall down were heavily weakened. If that was not enough the earthquake was only 5 kilometers deep meaning that the power was increased by 27% . Sadly,it happened in the afternoon, when people where out having lunch, at work or at school away from there parents. No children at school where injured but the CBD has claimed many lives. One of the victims was a 4 month old baby that died when the t.v fell on him.
Although there is so much heart ache it is amazing to see how NZ has pulled together to do what ever they can to help, from a coin in the donations box to going down there to get there hands dirty there are many people that have shown that little things do help.

Inspired by these people Room 12 decided they wanted to help. So we have decided to hold a disco with all the profits going to Christchurch. This will be held at the Lytton Street School hall this Friday and all of the lss students are very welcome. The theme is red and black an there will be prizes for best dressed and most exuberant dancer, plus a cool face painting stand, food and a guess how many contest.
It costs 2 dollars to enter and donations are welcome.

All of Room 12 have helped out and we hope you will enjoy a very different disco and that you can make it !!!! :)

From the project leaders,

Tori & Tessa :)
